Shri Shri Sankardev Sewa Samiti was born due to the efforts of five during the 2012 Brahmaputra floods that swept through Assam, taking the lives of over a hundred and impacting at least two million. Finding ourselves helpless against calamity, we tried to bring light and hope to those around us by providing relief material. Working at the grassroots level gave us fresh insights into what was needed and expected from us.
Thus, we segued into rescue and rehabilitation projects. Today, we have stepped into child development, women’s sustainable income, organic farming, preservation of weaving, and traditional Indian handlooms. The crazy part is that we are aware that this is only the tip of the iceberg. We would, with your kind help, love to take new ventures forward.
We aspire to bring the nation together, closing the gap between different chasms of society.
We love to connect with like-minded people beyond geographical and physical boundaries. Most importantly, we like to envisage new beginnings, experiment with creative problem-solving, and transform dreams into reality.
“You have to dream before your dreams can come true.”
“Great dreams of great dreamers are always transcended.”

Stithpragya is a platform that connects the elite institutions like the IITs, IIMs, NLUs, and so on with the last school of the farthermost village. The aim of the same is knowledge acquisition and sharing. The upper strata’s job is to generate and disseminate information. By doing that, they inadvertently influence the lower (and informal) rungs of society. However, the two groups can mutually influence and inform each other’s thoughts and decisions. In ancient times, Sanskrit was one such bridge that continually evolved itself as it came into contact with local languages and practices. Today, Stithpragya hopes to take on a similar role within the framework of the current academic system and age of technological wonder.
